Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become more involved in the Texas Public Purchasing Association?

That's easy - just volunteer!

Start by visiting the Committees area of our website for a list of committees. Click the "Join A Committee" link and the committee chair of your selected committee(s) will get back to you with more information.

If you are interested in being a board member, speak with our Nominating Committee for details.

Why do your conferences move around to different parts of the state?

We want to give purchasing professionals in different areas of Texas the opportunity to attend a conference. Sometimes being in the vicinity allows local entities to send more members for needed education.

If your city, county, college, etc. is interested in hosting a conference, please contact our Conference Committee and let them know.

I would like to make a presentation at the next conference or educational event. How do I do that?

Contact the Professional Development Committee and let them know what type of class you would like to present. Members making presentations are compensated for the registration fee for the conference or educational event.

I would like to see more classes for .... insert topic here.... Can TxPPA provide those classes?

Yes, we can. Anytime you are interested in a certain education class just let your Professional Development Committee know and they can begin looking for an expert in that field to provide those classes at an upcoming conference or educational event.
